Anonymous takes down GoDaddy

Anonymous has claimed responsibility for taking down GoDaddy.

For those of you who don't know what GoDaddy is, it's a massive web-hosting company/service, and domain purchases too. Even Google officially supports them through Blogger.

Earlier today, GoDaddy, and all of the sites it hosts, went offline and are still currently offline.

This means that currently thousands, possibly over a million websites are down right now.

GoDaddy did in fact respond, saying: “Status Alert: Hey, all. We’re aware of the trouble people are having with our site. We’re working on it.”

Anonymous is known well as a hacker group that hack into PC's, take websites down and hack them as well. They usually do it just for fun, and the websites usually return fairly quickly, and don't have any more problems.

@AnonOpsLegion tweeted earlier today: “#TangoDown – godaddy.com by @anonymousown3r "

Not only is the GoDaddy.com homepage and it's DNS servers down but all of the websites it hosts are, as well all of the email addresses associated too.

Hopefully GoDaddy and it's sites will return very soon, maybe even within the next 1-2 days, a lot of sites use GoDaddy Hosting and it's not just difficult for GoDaddy but the sites it hosts are having trouble right now too.
